Interested in color directory printing? Let’s be honest, a very, VERY small percentage of us are experts at graphic design. Photoshop is an epic program with endless possibilities. We cannot all get our hands on those skills or programs, so luckily there are professionals like The Ad Chick — who we can reach out to when we want to bring our ideas to life.
The Ad Chick is a design service that specializes in working with companies that don’t have their own in-house graphic designer or are in need of additional creative talent. Nancy Guth [chick behind ad chick] designs everything from the simplest of projects for a one-time job to the entire branding of a business and ongoing services that require constant collaboration.
This particular color directory printing project that Nancy Guth designed and then printed with Publishing Xpress was a member directory. The design and organization of the book was subtle yet appealing.
The color directory printing project was sized at 5.5 x 8.5, which was perfect for the content within the directory; there was no unnecessary blank space or pages. Nancy went with a light beige color image for the backgrounds that complemented the nature of the book very well, considering it is a directory and the text should be legible.
No images or text were close to the edges on this color directory printing project, leaving enough bleed for Publishing Xpress to cut without worrying about any important text being chopped off. The saddle stitch binding also ensured that nothing got lost within the spine. Had the binding been glued [perfect bound], there’s a chance of losing text within the spine or text being too tight by the spine.
I chose Publishing Xpress after investigating various print companies both locally and through an on-line search. Price is always a consideration but not at the cost of good service and a quality product. I was pleased with the responsiveness to my questions and the guidance that I was provided to assure my print job would come out the way I anticipated.
