In this day and age, not many people utilize day planner printing projects due to technological advances, but honestly…very little can compare to the feeling of writing something down in a book where you can easily flip through the pages.
Who remembers in grade school when planners were not only used to write all your homework down but it was a ‘doodle and get creative with crafts’ book? It was so much fun adding stickers and doodling.
The spotlight this week is on a new client of ours, Capricorn Design. They printed a clean and classic black and white day planner printing project with us, with simply a color cover. This really caught our eyes at Publishing Xpress because rarely do we receive day planner print requests, but even more so, rarely do we receive a classic looking day planner print request.
We at Publishing Xpress appreciated Capricorn Design’s black and white inside text with a seamless color collage for the cover. Many newer day planners are quite colorful and distracting with smaller than college-ruled lines to write on, but Capricorn Design kept plenty of space to write plans and take notes with no distracting colors or imagery. Each page included a 3-month calendar at the top left corner making it easy to refer to the month before and the month ahead.
Capricorn Design chose wire-o binding for their day planner printing project, which is ideal for day planners due to the sturdiness of the wire and the ability to open the planner up flat to write on. Plastic coil can also be a good option, basically any binding that will allow the book to sit flat. Perfect binding is not recommended.
Keeping with the nature of the book, they selected 70# uncoated text, light-weight and non-glossy paper which is most comfortable and suitable to write on. A minimum of 100# cover stock is recommended for coiled books to hold the sturdiness with the binding.
