Today we spotlight a local client, Groves High School and its school magazine printing project.
Publishing Xpress is located in Madison Heights, MI, and when we get an opportunity to help local clients with their printing and publishing needs, we definitely take pride in that.
Recently, Groves High School came to Publishing Xpress with their school magazine printing. Groves Scriptor is the name of this 80-page, full color, saddle-stitched magazine that students at Groves High school create from beginning to end [sans the printing, we at Publishing Xpress handle that part ;)].
It is filled with informative and fun articles and images relating to school activities as well as student accomplishments. This school magazine printing project is 70# gloss text with a self-cover, meaning it is 70# gloss text all the way through, including the cover.
Publishing Xpress chose to spotlight this school magazine printing project, not only because it is a local client, but also because of the smart choice of paper, binding, and design. Groves Scriptor editors seem to have grasped the concept of good clean design and the art of saving their school some money.
Self-cover, light glossy paper stock, and saddle-stitch are essential and ideal specs for school magazine printing projects; flexible, easy to open flat and read, and appealing without high costs. Also, with tight deadlines, saddle-stitch is the quickest to print.
How did you select Publishing Xpress?
I have been the adviser for the Birmingham Groves student newspaper, Scriptor, for fifteen years and I wanted to find a printer who could print a high quality, digital, full color, glossy magazine at an affordable price for my school. With this in mind, I researched the internet for this criteria and a local printer. I was very happy to find Publishing Xpress.
How was your experience with Publishing Xpress?
Amazing! Everyone was so flexible and helpful even before going to print: helping me resize pages in In-Design and explaining both my options and pricing. I was able to pick up the paper at the Madison Heights office and both the owner and her son were amazingly friendly and accommodating.
Was your project completed on time?
Not just on time but early!!
Were you happy with the quality of your project?
I was so happy with the quality of our magazine that I immediately decided to switch from our current printer (the printer we had used for fifteen years) to Publishing Xpress. The magazine has never looked so sharp, so vivid, so professional.
Would you use Publishing Xpress again?
Yes and I will recommend them to other newspaper and magazine advisers in the area.
