In this short-run magazine printing spotlight, we have a close-to-home client. Since we are located in Madison Heights, Michigan, we love that Great Lakes State is a company all about being Michigan Proud. They were founded in 2012 by a group of people born and raised in Michigan, with ties from Detroit all the way to the Upper Peninsula.
This company’s love for the state, the Great Lakes, and surfing has taken them to many of the hidden gems Michigan has to offer. The products they sell represent the individualism they have seen in this state. These products are high quality AND Michigan made! Best of all, 5% of each sale is given to the Alliance for the Great Lakes, an organization that works to protect the Great Lakes.
There’s nothing we love more to see in the short-run magazine printing projects we print than high quality photography and content, and the Great Lakes Surfer’s Journal had just that!
The vibrant pictures were high resolution and full of color, which made them look as great in the magazine as they would on a computer. All of the text is the perfect size to read, and is in legible font and colors, making this an extremely well done project overall.
The design of the book was very clean and aesthetically pleasing, and with the lightweight paper, you’ll never want to put it down. The full-spread photographs scattered throughout really make this product come to life.
Why did you choose Publishing Xpress?
I chose Publishing Xpress because they were local and their pricing was very competitive.
How was your experience with Publishing Xpress?
The experience I had with Publishing Xpress was excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure I fully understood my options and was comfortable with my final product, something you might not find in many online publishing services. They really made me feel at home and treated my project as if it were my own.
How do you feel about the quality and timeliness of your project?
The timeliness was excellent and very clear from the beginning. They were able to tailor to my needs and many parts of the process were done well before projections.
Would you use Publishing Xpress again?
I would without a doubt use Publishing Xpress again; in fact we have another run of printing that will be starting any day now. We look forward to more projects with Publishing Xpress in the future as well.
Is there anything you wish had been different?
We would not change anything about our experience with Publishing Xpress. They almost feel like family now. Thank you Publishing Xpress!
